Edgar Allen Poe was known for his dark and mysterious short stories. While he did write poetry and even a few plays, his most famous works were his short stories such as "The Tell-Tale Heart" and "The Fall of the House of Usher." He was not known for writing novels, as his writing style was better suited for shorter and more intense stories. Therefore, while Poe did dabble in various forms of writing, it was his short stories that he specialized in.
